I am from a city called Bangalore in India. I once found a dog with a severe wound on its right leg. I took it to the nearest vet-clinic and had it treated. Then I brought it home.

After a few days it occurred to me as if the dog had already been trained. Not long after it was with me, one day I noticed that my dog was no where to be seen. I searched all over my locality, but without any success. I was scared at this point of time that the dog catchers might have caught hold of my dog or maybe it had lost its way back home.

I had lost my hope. I waited for a week. After a week or so, I knew I couldn’t moan any longer waiting for my dog to come back, as I had to continue with my routine. One day when I came back from my school, I couldn’t believe my eyes. At first I thought it was not ‘BINGO’. But then he came running and hugged me in the same way as Christian had. This incident took place nearly one and a half years after he had disappeared.

I realized that even though I had forgotten about him, he had remembered me and had come from god knows where to meet me after 1 1/2 years. This shows that we have an important lesson to learn from animals. The attached picture was the one taken by me before he was lost.

An exhibition of the works of Joy Adamson

An exclusive exhibition of Joy Adamson’s botanical paintings will open for public viewing from 28 October to 1 November 2011, from 10am to 6pm daily.

The story of the raising of an orphan lion cub by Joy and George Adamson in the 1950s and her subsequent release into the African bush is one of the great conservation stories of all time and was vividly portrayed in the film ‘Born Free’. Joy was also a talented artist and Ellenborough Park is delighted to be able to display an exclusive selection of her original botanical illustrations.

Today the Elsa Conservation Trust, based here in Cheltenham, continues Joy’s lifelong commitment to wildlife conservation and also operates a wildlife retreat and an education centre at the Adamson’s former home in Elsamere on the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya’s Rift Valley. All proceeds will be used to support the Trust’s educational programme in Kenya.

A selection of high quality prints, photos and cards along with the 50th Anniversary Edition of the book ‘Born Free’ will be available for purchase.

Bonjour from France! I’ve just finish to read the book after having viewed again and again the differnt videos on YouTube. I discovered the story 2 weeks ago on French TV and it has been a kind of revolution for me. The story is so magnific, in fact, it is not a story it’s just Happiness with a huge H! So Team, please let Ace and John know that also in France their story is known and thank you so much for all the Happiness they give to the humankind thanks to Christian.

When I see the meeting in 1971 after one year separated, I think to my 50kg dog when I come back home. She’s a big Bernese Mountains dog, 50kg of love as Christian was. Thank you so much.

I have just read your story in a Readers Digest book, and just had to see for myself. This is the most touching and beautiful thing I have ever read. I am 68 years old and have even had tears watching the reunion. I am saving this for my 7 year old grandchildren to watch.

The story about the lion Christian is really amazing. I saw a reportage with my son, he´s 7 years old, on TV. When the film was over, tears running over his face. He was sad, because Christian was going away. He loves his dog. On this evening he stay with him and I must told him, that a lion is a wild cat and live in the nature – free and that you saved his life. On one way he know that it´s right, on the other way he feel sad.

Our dog is 18 month old and sometimes he plays like a big cat. He has very tall and thin, has long legs, big paws. we loves all our dog and he gave us so much. When we look in his eyes we know what he will say. When someone is ill, I feel it and stay by this person. And I hope that many people see these fantastic film and feel the love between human and an animal and have respect all animals. Christian is the best example, that animals are intelligent and that they can feel who loves them and who not. Lucien my son, asked me, why the lion boy bite the man? I asked him, what do you think? And he said, boy has pain and can´t say it.

Ace and John, you do the best for Christian. Thank you so much.
